Focus on Chelsea

If its May, it must be The Chelsea Flower Show, described by many as the best event of its type in the world and who are we to argue. As featured in my book Wild about Chelsea, its a great event to visit and for a week, the local area goes all wild and colourful.

Run by the Royal Horticultural Society, the annual event has been running since 1862, when it was called the Great Spring Show. Before this date an event had been held in Chiswick but due to falling numbers and poor transport links, they decided to move into central london and found a site in Kensington. It moved to Chelsea Hospital in 1913 and has been there ever since.
